I made another dream come true! I recently finished my Camino del Norte - the route that goes along the northern coast of Spain to Santiago de Compostela. I felt so powerful after doing this walk I decided to push my limits even further... to the end of the world, also known as Finisterre.
This is where I encountered the glorious Atlantic Ocean.

The hike took me 39 days and I walked 1006 km through The Basque Country, Cantabria, Asturia and Galicia - very green part of Spain. This is my second camino, but the first time I walked alone. Some days and stages I shared with the other travelers, but mostly I was doing it on my own.
What I noticed? I've found a great friend in myself.
I saw spectacular views and met some amazing people along the way. It wasn't easy - some days I walked in heat, some days it was pouring rain. I struggled with a few injuries and even contracted a cold with a high fever.
Nevertheless, I persisted with my journey!

I will say that it was incredibly important for me to eat breakfast every morning. Each day I had to fuel up with something nutritious and packed with vitamins. Which meant staying away from processed foods, and sticking to a nature based diet as much as I could. I enjoyed eating with the other people who stayed in my hostels-there's nothing more motivating than a community of like minded people sharing their personal lives and inspiring ideas with each other. This connection during breakfast gave me boosts of energy that lasted throughout my hikes.

As for the trail, I usually packed bananas, dark chocolate and nuts which I consumed along the way. Hydrating my body was key- I drank water and natural juices, and an occasional non alcoholic beer to spice things up in my system.
When I think about the people whom I met during my 39 day camino and the breathtaking views I saw- all of the inconveniences that happened feel miniscule. This place now feels like home, and the experience I felt will forever hold a sacred space in my heart.
Much like life, the camino isn't something you can plan. You just need to follow the signs, trust the way and experience it as much as possible.
Trust the process and all of your needs will be fulfilled.
