Gratitude.

Updated: Mar 31, 2023

Bosnian hospital during the Covid pandemic.

I recently had the chance to visit the main hospital in Tuzla with my aunt who unfortunately broke her arm. The wait for her check up was a dreadful four hours, with two hours spent outdoors in order to limit indoor capacity.

While waiting in the hospital I noticed all types of people, from all walks of life, with all kinds of illnesses. I stood in various corners, analyzing wounded patients and their pain levels. Most of them had broken limbs, and anybody could clearly see that they were in crucial pain-yet they acted as if it didn't bother them. I observed their strong mentality and thanked God for my healthy body.

This visit gave me a beautiful boost of gratitude, just in time for Thanksgiving. Even though Bosnia is mainly a Muslim country and we do not celebrate Thanksgiving - I was pleasantly reminded of the simple things in life that we take for granted every day.

Health is the most important blessing above all.

As we like to say Na Zdravlje (to good health), from my country to yours.
